Campaigns

Our campaigns are designed to raise understanding, challenge harmful narratives, and create safer environments where people feel able to seek support. We have outlined some of our recent campaigns below and we will continue to add to this list.

Love at the Movies (Valentines)

During February 2023, we launched our campaign ‘Love and the Movies – What’s love got to do with it?’

Whilst domestic abuse involves abuse within a number of different types of relationships, we were keen to get views on love in intimate relationships and how they are depicted in the movies!  We launched a survey asking members of the public what they felt were characteristics of healthy and unhealthy intimate relationships as well as how these are depicted in the movies!

Christmas Campaigns & Resources

In the past, we have supported organisations with Christmas campaigns and resources designed to engage, inform, and support their audiences during the festive season. From ready-to-use materials to fully tailored initiatives, we’ve helped deliver impactful messaging at a time when it matters most, whether raising awareness, supporting communities, or driving engagement.

Domestic Abuse & Pet Abuse (16 Days of Action)

Established in 1991, the ’16 Days of Action’ is an initiative that aims to raise awareness of the reality of domestic abuse and push for positive change to increase women and men’s safety.

Whilst the roots of the campaign lies in highlighting the nature and prevalence of gender-based violence against women, Alpha Vesta’s mission is to ‘break the cycle of domestic abuse’ regardless of gender or sexuality.

For this reason, we have chosen to highlight an aspect of domestic abuse that affects the whole family and we urge friends, family, work colleagues and communities to join us in raising awareness of the link between Domestic Abuse and Pet Abuse.

SETDAB Campaigns

At Alpha Vesta CIC, we are proud to regularly promote and amplify campaigns created by Southend, Essex and Thurrock Domestic Abuse Board (SETDAB).

SETDAB brings together representatives from agencies and organisations across Southend, Essex and Thurrock, united by a shared vision: enabling everyone to live a life free from all forms of domestic abuse.

The Board is responsible for designing and implementing the Domestic Abuse Strategy across the region, providing strategic leadership through a multi-agency framework, common ethos, and coordinated approach to innovation and change.
